The woman behind the  curtain

Thanks for stopping by, I'm Samantha and here's my journey:

I didn't always want to work in People Operations. I developed a passion for Anthropology early on when reading my parents' old National Geographic magazines and remember being mesmerized by the diversity I saw with every flip of a page. Unfortunately, Anthropology is no child of the light and as a field, has had to work tirelessly on reconciling with the communities it's harmed. With this in mind, I saw value in the core tenants of it. It was the desire to learn, to observe and to be humbled by other groups and societies that drew me in.

I'll admit that while I love the study of culture, teaching it wasn't something I was as passionate about and thus began my journey to explore Anthropology to a new space for me: business.

In this very moment is where my journey into the People Ops world began. What better way to observe and work with the culture of an organization than from their Human Resources office, right? Or so I thought.

Forget everything you know about "workplace culture".

If I had a penny for every time I've heard the term "workplace culture" I'd have funded my own hospital wing by now. My struggle with this term is that it uses the word "culture" in a context where no one has taken a moment to define it properly. So, my mission is to help businesses large and small, new and old, to better understand the dynamics of their workplace, the people who promote it and the immaterial things that make you, you!

My approach is nothing if not unorthodox, I turn heads, make waves and get shit done. If you want to better understand the culture that is building itself in your organization with or without your awareness, I'm here to help.

Culture is dynamic, and hence the name of my firm. We understand that things are ever evolving and that for true diversity to thrive, our thinking and acting have to be agile and innovative. So let's get to work on fostering a culture and a community that can make you a leader in your industry and empower your team members to achieve the same success as individuals.
